Amazon showed the first images from the expected series Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. It will have its premiere on the Amazon Prime Video streaming service on September 2, 2022. We should also see the first trailer on Monday, but until then you can see the first official photos. They show actors in shiny costumes and the beautiful environment of the Mediterranean, in which the plot of the series takes place.

The story will be set thousands of years before the Lord of the Rings movies, so don’t expect some of the favorite actors and characters to return. But for example Elrond (played by Hugo Weaving in the movies) or Galadriel (played by Cate Blanchett) will be in the series.
Of course, they will be very young, and so they are portrayed by new actors. Elronda was played by Robert Aramayo (he played a young version of Ned Stark from the Game of Thrones) and the young Galadriel was played by Morfydd Clark (she starred in the hilarious horror film Saint Maud).
