YIT and Lords LB Special Fund V have signed an agreement for the construction of the first phase of a new business district Preses Nama kvartāls in Riga, Latvia. YIT will be the general contractor for the project. The parties agreed not to publish the total value of the contract. The works will start in March 2023, and the project is planned to be completed by the end of 2024.
The new commercial space named Preses Nama Kvartāls will be developed and implemented in three phases. In the first stage of development, it is planned to build a business center and a multi-purpose center. The 11-story Class A business center will have an area of 26,000 square meters and will have office space for approximately 2,600 employees. The business center will meet the excellent BREEAM certification criteria and is qualified as a nearly zero energy building.
The business center will be connected to a large multi-purpose center through a glass atrium. The total area of the multifunctional center will be 40,000 square meters, which will combine retail, sports, medical services and dining areas. The first rooftop football stadium in the Baltics will be located on the roof of the fifth floor, next to it will be a green terrace and a cafe. The multi-purpose center will also have 300 bicycle racks on three floors above ground with a total of 1,000 parking spaces, including charging stations for electric cars.
Architects office Arhis Arhitekti created the overall vision for the first stage of development and the multifunctional center. The business center was designed by Arrow Architects.
