The LC 500 was the first premium car to feature a soft folding roof. It automatically lowered and rose in 15 seconds at a speed of up to 50 kilometers per hour.

Together with the car, the new owner, who wished to remain anonymous, received several iconic accessories. These include a framed sketch of a cabriolet, a certificate personally signed by the engineers and director of the Lexus factory, a portfolio with images from the conveyor, as well as a certificate for driving lessons in a Lexus laboratory and a certificate for three nights at the Pebble Beach Hotel.
