The King of England, Charles III, made his first official visit to France after his accession to the throne.

According to the information obtained by SIA, King Charles III, who went to Paris with his wife, Queen Camilla, as part of his state visit, was met by French Prime Minister Elizabeth Borne at Orly airport.

King Charles III and his wife Camilla were welcomed by French President Emmanuel Macron, his wife Brigitte Macron and French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu at the Arc de Triomphe located on the Elysee Square, the most famous street in Paris.

King Charles III and Macron went to the Elysee Palace in the same car.

During the bilateral meeting, the King of England and the French President discussed climate, biodiversity, artificial intelligence, as well as the situation in the Sahel and Ukraine.

After the meeting, King Charles III attended an official dinner hosted by Emmanuel Macron for him at the Palace of Versailles.

As part of his 3-day visit to France, Charles II will address the Senate, the upper chamber of the French parliament, on September 21, and then visit the Notre Dame Cathedral, where restoration work is ongoing. The King of England will go to Bordeaux in the south of the country on September 22, where he will meet with French and British soldiers.
