The Abdeen Education Department of the Cairo Directorate of Education circulated a letter to all its affiliated schools, of which Masrawy obtained a copy.
The text of the letter reads: “It is noted in a large number of school classes that students buy one of the energy drinks intended for over 18s, which are forbidden for boys, because they cause an increase in heart rate and sudden death.”
The Abdeen administration has indicated that this drink is sold outside of schools and that students consume it more than once a day, which can lead to serious health problems.
The administration has warned school principals of the need to follow students in schools, and to inform parents to follow their children and what they have bought out of school, and to constantly warn them not to buy what harms them, especially in elementary and the preparatory stages.
