The critical sector of the Asturian Socialist Federation (FSA-PSOE) with Adrián Barbón will be announced this Friday at 12:30 in front of the Presidential Palace in a rally that is expected to be attended by 150 militants and supporters, as well as Asturian socialist mayors.
In a statement sent to Europa Press, they have indicated that this Friday they will make known both the critics who are asking for a new congress and the documents in which the contact with the Socialist Federal Executive is shown to “ask for internal democracy” within the FSA. In the absence of the formal presentation this Friday, the critics have made known the names of four people belonging to the local groups of Oviedo, Gijón, San Martín del Rey Aurelio and Avilés. They are Patricia Álvarez, Diana Alonso, Álvaro Álvarez and Sara Fernández, respectively. In statements to Europa Press, Álvaro Álvarez has explained that the discontent is growing in the municipal groups.
He has thus pointed to at least “23 cases” in which there are problems. “If you are not very concerned about this matter, you can tell us why you have been calling the groups and mobilising your supporters,” he said. The critics will show the emails exchanged with members of the Federal Executive and will also demonstrate that they communicated with Barbón through the email of the presidency of the Principality before bringing this matter to light. They also had contacts with the FSA-PSOE for the registration of the motion through which they request that the autonomous congress be brought forward, either through the call by Barbón or through the constitution of a management committee.
Critics have already collected around 550 signatures for the petition, but hope to reach 900. They will present the petition to the FSA on Friday before announcing the signatories, to avoid any preliminary proceedings being opened against them.
