The first measure from Israel regarding the adoption of the death penalty against Palestinians

Al-Marsad newspaper – Agencies: The Israeli newspaper “Haaretz” said, on Friday, that the National Security Council in Israel will discuss a law proposal presented by the extremist Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, regarding approving the death penalty against Palestinian prisoners.

She added that the Israeli National Security Council will begin discussing the Sharia proposal that allows for the issuance of death sentences against Palestinian prisoners, according to an official she quoted, but did not disclose.

The Council will meet next week for the initial discussion on the proposal, which Ben Gvir promoted.

The meeting will examine the feasibility of the proposal and its repercussions on the international scene, especially since the minister may present it to the mini-security ministerial council for approval.

The draft law received initial approval from the Knesset (Parliament) in March of this year.

According to the project, Israeli military courts will be obligated to issue death sentences against any Palestinian convicted of attacks in which Israelis are killed on a “nationalist background.”

The draft states that “the death penalty is applied only to Arab terrorists, because it defines the acts that warrant the death penalty as having racist motives and harming the Jewish people in their homeland.”
