The first Jamies, the Flemish online video awards, have been …

The first Flemish online video awards, the Jamies, were presented on Friday evening. This happened during an online award show from the Kursaal of Ostend. Acid, Bockie De Rapper and Flo Windey, among others, were among the winners.

The first edition of the Flemish awards for online creators is over. ‘De Jamies’ is an initiative of the Ostend Film Festival in collaboration with creative agency Hurae. Hannes Coudenys, the man behind Hurae, thought that in Flanders there is ‘little attention for online video makers’. With the Jamies he changes that. The presentation could be seen live on VRT.NU and Youtube and was presented by comedienne Soe Nsuki with sidekick Sander Gillis from MNM.

Youtube phenomenon Acid took home the awards for best online creator and best vlog. Flemish Minister of Youth & Media Benjamin Dalle went to his hometown, Blankenberge, to present the award. The standard did the same in 2019.

Average Rob is the funniest. He received the award for best comedy. The prize for best lifestyle went to Bockie De Repper. Jonatan Medart received the Jamie for best Tiktok and Flo Windey received De Jamie for best explainer for her YouTube series ‘Faqda’. The best online fiction went to the youth series WTFock. Hakim Chatar won the best Instagram award and Chucki Beats won a Jamie for best dance and music.

Kastiop received a prize posthumously. The popular Youtuber passed away last fall. He was voted best game streamer. The organization announced that the Jamie for ‘Best Gamestreamer’ will from now on be called the ‘Kastiop Award’, as a tribute.

The award show was festively closed with an online party with ‘Because it is possible Soundsystem’.
