As we wrote before, the authors entice us to a huge world full of radiation, mutants and anomalies. It is supposed to be one of the largest open worlds ever. The story should be non-linear and our difficult choices will have implications for its branching and various conclusions. We will come across new anomalies and mutants here.

The first STALKER with the subtitle Shadow of Chernobyl from GSC Game World was released in 2007 and was also born long and in pain. The game was announced in November 2001 and was originally scheduled to be released two years later. The well-received title was “followed” by the prequel Clear Sky (2008) and the sequel Call of Pripyat (2009). But then the well-oiled machine got stuck. STALKER 2 was announced in August 2010, but work had begun a year earlier and was due in 2012. In the meantime, the number of employees had fallen from 200 to 50. Problems were repeatedly speculated when the project was formally completed in 2012. canceled. But the studio itself was just an empty shell with debts and a lot of disputes. In 2011, the company actually ceased to function, only to come back to life three years later. In 2018, work on STALKER 2 began again.
