The first images of Muniain training in San Lorenzo

After being officially presented as a new addition to Ciclón, the Spanish player joined the Pipi Romagnoli team’s Saturday morning training sessions.

What at the time seemed like a utopian dream ended up becoming a reality: at the end of the transfer market, San Lorenzo scored a goal in the last minute called Iker Muniain. Because although the Spanish player had expressed on countless occasions his desire to play for River, I didn’t look down on coming to Argentine football.

And after so much expectation, it will be with the Boedo team: as a free agent and with a contract that links him to the Ciclón until December 2025, he was officially presented a few hours ago. Far from wasting time, the Athletic Bilbao idol joined the training sessions this morning.

Under the message: “Iker. Fine-tuning”, the club’s social networks released the first images of the 31-year-old attacking midfielder’s rehearsal, which aims to quickly adapt to Pipi Romagnoli’s team.

To top it all off, the break for the double date of the Qualifiers was a godsend for the Pamplona native, as San Lorenzo will only play again next weekend against Vélez, where he will have a great chance to debut at the Pedro Bidegain. As if that were not enough, the Spaniard changed his Instagram profile photo to one with the Ciclón.

Muniain’s first words upon arriving at San Lorenzo

Iker Muniain officially became a San Lorenzo player. The Athletic Club de Bilbao idol was present this Friday afternoon at the Pedro Bidegain stadium and signed his contract with the Gauchos de Boedo, lasting until December 2025.

The Basque left his feelings and showed his enthusiasm for being able to play at the Nuevo Gasómetro. “I feel enormously happy to be here, the truth is that I loved the stadium and I can’t wait to see it full of people cheering on the team. I loved everything I saw, it excited me. When you are a player and you see the fans of a team as big as San Lorenzo’s and that creativity they have and how they cheer on the team, it moves you inside. And well, I really want to get dressed and start playing,” he said in a video that San Lorenzo shared on its official communication channels.
