At a small ceremony, the vice-chairman of the LEADER Franconian Switzerland cultural knowledge initiative, Sabina Heidecke, together with the LEADER manager Marion Rossa-Schuster, presented the first six funding certificates in the new LEADER funding period to support projects initiated to voluntary. . In addition to the voluntary initiatives, she was also able to welcome the mayors of Ebermannstadt, Leutenbach and Gräfenberg.
With the “Support Citizen Engagement” project, it is possible to give financial support to even small projects with up to 2,500 euros. The aim is to reward and encourage voluntary work in the sector in a non-bureaucratic way with a grant. Heidecke explains: “Unfortunately, creative project ideas often fail due to lack of funds. This is even more unfortunate because behind it there are often highly motivated, voluntary people who are willing to invest time, energy and perseverance for the common good. “
Heidecke presented funding certificates for the following projects: Six local associations in Niedermirsberg would like to work together to create a pleasant and loving atmosphere in public spaces. For this purpose, seating groups and benches as well as plant pools should be established in the village and decorated with plants. The Bammersdorfer Jugend eV would like to expand a garage as a storage facility for the club’s materials and has received a grant for building materials, paint and shelves. The Swiss Franconian Society of Leutenbach’s local group plans to provide the Leutenbach local history room with energy-saving lighting and install traditional clothing and an additional information board to complete the didactic concept of the overall museum. The DJK Sparta Pautzfeld will build a boules court near the sports fields, which will be available in the future to the public for sports activities and as an intergenerational meeting place. The youth of the town of Kunreuth, as part of the association “Kunreuth – here you can live eV”, are re-designing and renovating the town square of Kunreuth in 2024. As part of this, a table tennis table will be out to buy for the youth too. The young people will set up the table tennis table and collect them.
When it is finished, the town square will be a meeting place for young and old, for communication, exchange of ideas and understanding. The local branch of the Franconian Society of Switzerland Thuisbrunn-Heidhof plans to establish a public bookstore at the Zehntspeicher. The brochure aims to encourage citizens and visitors to stay longer in the place so that they can enjoy the atmosphere of the place more intensely. The brochure is also intended to be a social meeting place where citizens and visitors can talk to each other.
Heidecke emphasized that the volunteers contribute greatly to the development and prosperity of society through their ideas, work, time and, last but not least, their commitment to work for the community. “This cannot be taken for granted in our time, in which we are always given new tests by changing crises. “
LAG manager Rossa-Schuster then explained that all voluntary initiatives now have 12 months to implement their projects. “The money will flow when the successful implementation of the project is reported to LEADER management with a picture and a factual report.” The delivery of the funding certificates was completed with thanks and recognition for the volunteer work.
