Hanoi, March 6 (VNA) — Two flights repatriating Vietnamese from Ukraine will depart from Romania and Poland this week.
A flight, operated by national carrier Vietnam Airlines, is due to take off from Romania on March 7 and carry 283 Vietnamese citizens. He is expected to arrive at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi at noon on March 8.
The other flight, operated by Bamboo Airlines, will leave Poland on March 9 with 270 passengers on board. It is expected to arrive at Noi Bai International Airport on March 10 in the morning.
The government recently approved the policy to organize flights for to bring back Vietnamese in Ukraine at home.
With a spirit of humanity and giving the highest priority to the protection of Vietnamese citizens, the government allows the organization of repatriation flights for Vietnamese people and their family members.
They will receive COVID-19 tests upon arrival in Vietnam and take necessary medical measures as instructed by the Ministry of Health.
The government assigned the Ministry of Transport to take the lead in organizing the flights, while the Ministry of Finance was tasked with funding the flights.
As part of efforts to implement the Prime Minister’s directive, the Foreign Office worked with the Department of Transport to carry out the two repatriation flights.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs plans to coordinate with the agencies to continue to organize vols to evacuate Vietnamese people and their family members from dangerous areas in Ukraine to neighboring countries, and bring those who wish to return to Vietnam according to the actual situation and Vietnam’s capacity. .
In recent days, Vietnamese representative offices in Ukraine and neighboring countries have been closely coordinating with local authorities and Vietnamese associations in host countries to help the Vietnamese community evacuate conflict areas and provide them with temporary housing and essential products.
As of March 5, more than 2,000 Vietnamese had been evacuated from combat zones in Ukraine to neighboring countries. Among them, more than 1,000 had arrived in Poland, 370 had come to Romania, 200 were on their way from Moldova to Romania, about 190 had reached Hungary and about 40 had come to Slovakia.
The Citizen Protection Group and representative offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are closely monitoring the situation and receiving inquiries from Vietnamese through the Citizen Protection Hotlines.
