Furthermore, by realizing this evolution in just five years, Alfa Romeo has set itself the goal of becoming the car brand that has achieved carbon neutrality fastest.
The new “Tonale” model is the car with which the brand announces itself in the world of electrification, while remaining faithful to its Italian roots. The new version opens a new phase in the transformation of Alfa Romeo, as it combines maximum efficiency and sportiness.
The new vehicle’s advanced hybrid system combines the 180PS turbocharged 1.3-litre “MultiAir” four-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. The electric motor takes care of the operation of both wheels of the axle, delivering 90 kW (122 HP) of power with 250 Nm of torque to the front and rear wheels.
The 306-volt and 15.5 kWh battery offers the possibility of traveling more than 80 kilometers in city and more than 600 kilometers in combined mode, making the Tonale Hybrid one of the most efficient plug-in hybrid SUVs.
This car is excellent in terms of sustainability, thanks to the new hybrid engine, which reduces CO2 emissions to 26 kg/km. The reduction was also achieved in terms of fuel consumption, which was reduced to 1.14 liters per 100 kilometers in the WLTP cycle. Furthermore, using the integrated 7.4 kW charger, the battery can be recharged in less than 2.5 hours, thus achieving maximum efficiency.
“The new Tonale combines efficiency and sustainability with first-class sportiness, specific to the brand. In electric mode, reaches a top speed of 135 km/h, but in hybrid mode, this car reaches a top speed of 206 km/h. A particularly thrilling acceleration sensation is enhanced by the car’s “e-AWD” system. The immediate activation of The electric motor’s 100 km/h % available torque causes the rear axle to react as soon as the accelerator pedal is pressed, creating a truly unforgettable driving experience,” says Uvis Braunfelds, sales manager of “Autobrava Motors”.
This car features a modified Alfa Romeo historic logo to highlight the brand’s electrification process. Furthermore, the snake logo can be seen on the left rear window, particularly highlighted by the tinted glass.
