The first edition of the U-12 Women’s National League begins – Panamanian Football Federation

The opening day will be played this Saturday, October 5, from 9:00 am at the Glorias Deportivas Baruenses Stadium, in Puerto Armuelles.

The Panamanian Football Federation (FPF) inaugurates this weekend the first edition of Under-12 Women’s National League with the participation of more than 540 girls nationwide.

The opening date will be played this Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6 in the Chiriquí Oeste sector in the Glorias Deportivas Baruenses Stadiumin the city of Puerto Armuelles, province of Chiriquí.

The women’s children’s league is part of the development program of FIFA and its department of Women’s Developmentwhich for 3 years will support the development of women’s children’s leagues in Panama.

Carolina Jolycoordinator of the FPF Development Department, stressed the importance of the launch of the children’s women’s soccer program and its deployment at the national level.

“I think it is very important to see the follow-up and continuation that the development department has had with its programs and projects, generating not only soccer activities for our girls, but also giving competition spaces to women’s soccer is a direct reflection of that,” indicated the coordinator.

The sports provinces that will be participating in the first edition of the national U-12 women’s tournament are Veraguas, Chiriquí Oeste, Veraguas center, Colón, Chiriquí and Bocas del Toro.

The competition will feature 30 teams and 540 girls playing soccer in a 9vs9 format and matches will be played over several months at venues in Chiriquí Oeste, Soná, Changuinola, Colón, and more.

The launch of this league is part of an initiative that the Federation has carried out since 2022, in conjunction with FIFA, to continue promoting women’s football at the national level in all provinces.
