The crane was spotted on Tuesday morning near the so-called Trandansen by the lake when it was walking around looking for food.
– I long for spring so I was happy to see it. But even if spring cranes are awesome, I think autumn is even more magical. Then I see flocks of cranes take off at sunrise and then large flocks fly out to the lake when the sun sets, says Lasse Karlsson, who was the one who glimpsed the bird, in a press release.
The crane is probably the first to make the journey from winter quarters in Europe to Hornborgasjön, according to the county administration in Västra Götaland. However, it will take a couple more weeks before the large flocks of cranes gather at the lake, which usually happens in mid or late March.
