Manar Ghanem, a member of the media center of the Meteorological Authority, said that the unstable state of weather conditions begins tomorrow evening, Saturday, due to the presence of an air depression on the surface of the Mediterranean Sea and on the upper layers of the atmosphere.
He said in an exclusive statement to “Masrawy” that this is the first case of the autumn season, known for fluctuating weather and the possibility of rain in coastal areas and in the north of the country.
He indicated that this situation starts from tomorrow evening and begins in the western regions such as Matrouh and Salloum, as the evening hour advances, the entry begins in Alexandria and Northern Lower Egypt and at night the night hours will advance to the Lower Governorates Southern Egypt.
He pointed out that the chances of rain starting tomorrow evening will be moderate and sometimes thunderstorms on north-western coasts such as Matrouh, Salloum, El Alamein and Alexandria.
He explained that thunderstorms are expected to advance in some areas of southern Lower Egypt with Sunday night and early Sunday morning, such as Menoufia, Gharbia and Sharqiya, with the possibility of light rain in some areas of Greater Cairo, with night and Sunday morning.
He said the weather situation will have wind activity on the surface of the Mediterranean with disruption of maritime traffic in the Mediterranean, plus wind activity in the northern regions will increase the sense of low temperatures from Sunday to Monday or Tuesday.
He stressed that the main and important element in the weather situation is the chances of rain falling clearly on the northern coasts and the areas most affected due to their proximity to the Mediterranean Sea and low air are the coastal zones, and gradually as the matter advances inland, the intensity and strength of the situation and the amount of rain decreases.
He added that the rain will continue for 72 hours on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, in addition to the possibility of rain on Tuesday in the coastal areas, but its amount will be less than what it will witness on Monday, Sunday or Saturday evening.
The Meteorological Authority has announced that the country is affected by a state of unstable weather conditions, starting tomorrow evening, Saturday.
The authority explained that the country is affected by a shallow depression on the Mediterranean, accompanied by an air depression in the upper atmosphere, which causes rains of varying intensity, sometimes storms, in the north of the country.
He indicated that a detailed description of the location and amount of rain will be released, noting that this case is the first rain many regions of the country will witness during the fall of 2022.
