The first cars with equipment for the field hospital in Letňany left Linet

Transportation is provided by two cars, one carrying medical beds, the other their accessories. They will rotate repeatedly between Prague and Želevčice in the Kladno region. According to the employee, another 200 beds are to be delivered to Letňany on Thursdays and Fridays.

On Monday, Linet and the government signed a contract for the supply of 1,618 medical beds. In addition to the Letňany field hospital, the beds will go to the State Material Reserves Administration. Delivery should be complete in about a month.

“Standard orders filled our production with an overview by the end of the year. We immediately started negotiations with our customers so that we could prioritize Czech demand. We believe that we will meet with understanding,” said Lineta director Tomáš Kolář on Tuesday.

The hospital in Letňany should serve patients for after-treatment, it should be launched when the capacity in traditional hospitals runs out. There will be 500 beds available, only ten of them will be equipped for intensive care. According to health professionals, many seniors are hospitalized who have already been cured, but are still positive for coronavirus and need care. For example, they cannot return to retirement homes due to fears of infecting other residents.
