The new iPhone 15 has been on sale since Friday, this is what the first sloppy piece looks like
A YouTuber from Australia took care of it and immediately tested its durability
It’s always a big buzz when new iPhones hit the market and the first customers start sharing photos and videos of their new phones on social media and everywhere around them. And if you have at least a little bit of a mischievous mind, with the premiere of the new iPhones, you can also look forward to footage of the first loser whose iPhone falls and breaks. So here is the first broken iPhone 15 Pro.
iPhone 15 smashed to pieces
The first broken iPhone of the new generation is not the fault of any unfortunate person, but an Australian YouTuber on the AppleTrack channel. He took the freshly unpacked iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro and dropped both of them several times from different heights.
The starting fall from a height of about one meter landed on the edge of both models. And this test turned out better for the iPhone 15 Pro, titanium turned out to be more suitable for protecting the material from abrasion. Scratches immediately appeared on the shiny steel frame of the iPhone 14 Pro, which cannot be said about the titanium model. One zero for fifteen.
This was followed by a free fall from a height of about 1.5 meters, this time onto the back. This is not a professional test, so it depends on how the mobile picks up the rotation during the flight. However, the glass back of the iPhone 15 Pro cracked on the first impact, while the iPhone 14 Pro unexpectedly remained in one piece. After another test, this time from a height of 1.7 meters, no further “injury” appeared to either of the devices.
Total detonation only occurred during a drop test from more than 2 meters onto the front and back. The iPhone 15 Pro was badly damaged, the back glass was shattered by more than 60%, the camera lens was destroyed (then the entire module fell out), the titanium sides were abraded and the glass on the display was also completely destroyed.
The iPhone 14 Pro held up much better, which practically only took away battered steel frames from the entire drop test. Last year’s model finally broke only during an extreme fall from more than 3.5 meters. At least in this test, however, it showed that steel is many times more resistant to falls and subsequent abrasions than titanium.
