The first Belarusian cosmonaut will fly to the ISS in 2024 | Technologies

The Belarusian cosmonaut will leave for the ISS on March 13, 2024. This is reported by the state corporation “Roscosmos” in its telegram channels.

Arriving in Russia’s Star City are Marina Vasilevskaya and Anastasia Lenkova, two Belarusians who have been chosen to fly into space.

On July 24, the cosmonauts will start training for space flight as part of the main and backup crews of Expedition 21 to the ISS.

Preparation will take eight months – the girls will study the systems of the Soyuz MS spacecraft, the Russian segment of the ISS, and learn how to fend off emergency situations.

Vasilevskaya is in the main crew along with Oleg Novitsky and Tracey Dyson, Anastasia Lenkova is in the backup crew, along with Ivan Vagner and Donald Pettit.

Roscosmos has already announced that the launch of the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft is scheduled for March 13, 2024.

Oleg Novitsky and Marina Vasilevskaya will spend 12 days on the ISS and return to Earth on Soyuz MS-24 together with NASA astronaut Loral O’Hara, while Tracey Dyson will continue the flight.
