BIRTH. The first baby of the year in Estrie was born at 12:52 am at the Brome-Missisquoi-Perkins Hospital. The little guy named “Mayvi” weighed 8 pounds and 8 ounces.
The happy parents of the first baby in 2021 are Krystel Savage-Chagnon and Mathieu Morissette. They were waiting for the baby to arrive around January 8. The nice surprise, however, arrived earlier than expected.
“When I got back to the hospital in the afternoon, I was immediately told: first baby of the year, first baby of the year. The work was going so well that the staff believed it was going to be over by 11:30 p.m., but in the end I pushed longer. And that means that we went to January 1, ”said the mother.
Mayvi will be added to the fatrie which already has a 9-year-old big brother and a 7-year-old big sister.
