National Development Planning Agency (National Development Planning Agency) said three ministries would move first to new capital (IKN) in North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan.
Expert Staff to the Head of Bappenas for Leading Sector and Infrastructure Velix Vernando Wanggai said the three ministries were the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), the Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu).
“If the offices of the president and vice president move before 2024, then of course some good ministries such as the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Defense at least public office who will move to IKN,” said Velix in the Public Consultation on the Draft Law (RUU) on IKN, Tuesday (21/12).
After that, the government will gradually move other ministry offices to IKN. Later, the government will select which ministries are essential.
“Of course consider other ministries related to state policy support,” added Velix.
One of the ministries that is also being considered for moving to IKN is the Ministry of Finance. This is because the role of the Ministry of Finance is also important in the government.
“This (Ministry of Finance) is a major ministry in terms of the role and human resources (HR). Of course, the Ministry of Finance is also (moved) in stages,” explained Velix.
He added that the status of the state capital from DKI Jakarta will move to East Kalimantan in the first semester of 2024.
If the IKN Bill has been passed, the government will make more technical derivative rules. The derivative regulation is targeted to be completed two months after the IKN Bill is passed.
