/ world today news/ The situation is dire in Plovdiv, where from 3 p.m. today a fire is destroying one by one historic buildings in the center of the city, reports the correspondent of BGNES in the region.
Three of the tobacco warehouses in the square between “Ivan Vazov” and “G.M. Dimitrov” streets were destroyed from the inside, the fourth was partially damaged. At 10 p.m., the fire took over the fifth warehouse, which has a warm connection with one of the burned ones. The building is uninhabited, two of the walls have collapsed on a vacant lot next door. All the available personnel of the fire department are at the scene of the disaster, but the situation is very difficult. Seemingly extinguished outbreaks flare up again and it has been repeated several times already. People from neighboring residential buildings are being evacuated. The power is out in the area.
