Finnish President Sauli Niinistö said today that Russian President Vladimir Putin must look in the mirror if Finland decides to join NATO and increase its own security, Reuters reported.
The Finnish leader is expected to confirm on Friday that Helsinki will apply for membership in the US-led Western military alliance in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Niinistö remarked when asked by reporters as he met with the British prime minister in Helsinki to sign a pact on mutual defense co-operation to see if Finland feared Russian aggression.
