While this morning, the daily L’Equipe spoke about the hearing of the LOSC before the DNCG following the acquisition of the club by Merlyn Partners, the financial policeman of French football wanted to rectify certain information through a press release. The DNCG thus regretted the publication of this article, which may be prejudicial to all stakeholders in the current operation, namely the buyout of the club. The DNCG, which was not solicited by the authors of the article, regrets the publication of certain unverified, incorrect information likely to be prejudicial to all parties to the operation concerned.
Its Chairman, Jean-Marc Mickeler, specifies the following:
– in accordance with its regulatory mission, the DNCG heard prior to the completion of the transaction, Gérard Lopez as seller and then representatives of Merlyn as purchaser in order to gather the elements necessary for the production of its recommendations;
– the DNCG confirms that the project as it was presented – and contrary to what is mentioned in the article, includes both a significant reduction in debt and an additional capital contribution;
-these exchanges made it possible to clarify the Commission’s expectations for the hearing to be held on January 4, 2021. “
