Financially, times are tough for Bolegason, the only Smac du Tarn (Current Music Scenes). While the season has just been launched and the 9th edition of the Primeurs festival is approaching, director Olivier Nicaise received a visit from MP Jean Terlier to discuss the question of financing. In a letter addressed to the Minister of Culture, Rima Abdul-Malak, dated September 19, Jean Terlier indicates: “Like many places, Lo Bolegason has received the same sum of €100,000 for 22 years. However, in 2001 , this minimum amount corresponded to 1/3 of the Bolegason budget while in 2023, this amount only covers 1/8th of the forecast budget of 870,000 euros.” And asks the minister to know her commitments regarding the increase in the minimum financing of Smacs, set within the framework of the Finance Law of 2017.
