/ world today news/ Minister Goranov, how long will you be a banker! The new finance minister, Vladislav Goranov, is still in the management of the Municipal Bank as executive director and member of the board.
A check of “Votes” in the Commercial Register found that Goranov appears in the management team together with Sasho Chakalski and Radoslav Milenkov. No change of circumstance has been noted in the register – there is no change in the composition of the management, and there is no application for Goranov’s removal. According to lawyers, he should have immediately requested a delisting, as he is in a conflict of interest.
The figure of the current finance minister is interesting not only along his dichotomy in the banking direction. When he was the deputy of Simeon Dyankov in the previous office of GERB, the lens of “Voices” caught him at a table in a capital restaurant with the media boss and MP from DPS Delyan Peevski. The scandalous meeting on May 5, 2010 was later widely circulated, but Boyko Borisov closed his eyes, perhaps consciously.
“When Parvanov and Dogan are together – there is no problem, but Vladi Goranov and Peevski are a problem,” Borisov countered the journalists’ questions.
Anonymous sources of “Voices” revealed that at the meeting in question Goranov relayed Prime Minister Borissov’s order for Tsvetan Tsvetanov and Peevski to start buying electronic publications, websites and regional newspapers. However, the successful young man Peevski asked why they should do this, Goranov said that it was necessary so that the state money would not be withdrawn. The appointment lasted nearly an hour in negotiations on the financial parameters surrounding certain joint projects.
During the period when Goranov was Deputy Minister of Finance, the deposits of state-owned companies were concentrated in KTB, and it financed the media of the impressive “mother and son” tandem Peevski-Krasteva. There is another interesting coincidence – the meeting is shortly before the deadline for the then Minister of Finance Simeon Dyankov to answer 11 editors-in-chief from the Union of Publishers in Bulgaria about which banks hold the money of state-owned companies.
Later, when GERB found itself in opposition in the 42nd parliament, Goranov fell into parliamentary discomfort and left in February of this year. On June 23, it became clear that he was nominated by the Metropolitan Municipality for the managerial position in Municipal Bank, and a week earlier his documents were submitted to the BNB for approval. Currently, Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov is still the executive director of the bank.
