The Finals: Steam’s Open Beta Testing Draws a Mixed Response from Players Worldwide

Everyone was allowed to touch the new shooter The Finals. The Steam community responded to the call. Not without the Chinese

Steam recently launched open beta testing of the shooter The Finals. The authors of Battlefield had a hand in the project; the Embark studio is headed by the famous ex-DICE manager Patrick Soderlund, who is remembered by many for his colorful statements during the launch of Battlefield V.

As a result, the peak online for The Finals on Steam was 235,948 players. However, this impressive result also has a dark side.

Players from all over the world poured into The Finals, including from the Asian region, which is very clearly visible in the ping. Europeans (judging by quantity complaints on forum) are extremely dissatisfied with the fact that there are very, very many Chinese and they are in no way separated into conditional regional servers. The problem is not only their high ping, which makes it difficult to play with/against them, but also the cheaters.
