This is the “Curwa” video that has garnered over 23 million views since its launch in April 2019 and until now. In July 2019, the song performed by Dani Mocanu was reported to the National Council for Combating Discrimination (CND), for the lyrics inciting violence against women.
In April 2021, the Piteşti District Court sentenced Dani Mocanu in the first instance in this case to a criminal fine of 15,000 lei for committing the crime of incitement to hatred or discrimination.
In addition, a year ago, magistrates ordered a 6-month sentence, an older sentence, in custody, because the incriminating video was released during the surveillance period for a previous sentence.

Meanwhile, prosecutors asked the court to waive the 6-month sentence, citing the fact that the surveillance period had expired about a month before the video was released.
Dani Mocanu’s $ 34,136 will be confiscated, which consisted of advertising rights to the video. Also by the final sentence of the Piteşti Court of Appeal, the YouTube platform is obliged to withdraw Dani Mocanu’s video, as well as all related videos.
Dani Mocanu was also obliged to pay the amount of 6,000 lei, representing judicial expenses to the state, of which the amount of 5,000 lei represents expenses incurred during the criminal investigation.
