Adam Sýkora became the fourth Slovak drafted this year, when the representatives of the New York Rangers reached for him from the 63rd place. On Monday, before the training of the under-20 national team, the native of Piešťany revealed that he will still play in Slovakia next season.
“I have now received a notice that I am staying in Nitra. The officials of the New York Rangers told me that they would be happy if I stayed there and continued to play men’s hockey. I am happy about it. There are great people and great fans in Nitra, whom I like very much. There is also a good team in the cabin and I feel at home there,” revealed Adam Sýkora before Monday’s training of the under-20 national team.
And how did they react to this news in Nitra? “They were certainly very happy to have me there for another year. I think they are very happy that I am staying with them,” concludes Adam Sýkora.
