Britain’s health and finance ministers have resigned, reported Reuters. It is likely to be the final blow for Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who has sought to apologize for the latest sexual misconduct scandal involving one of his ministers.
Health Secretary Sajid Javid has announced his resignation, saying he “can no longer continue (in the post) in good conscience”. Shortly thereafter, Finance Minister Rishi Sunak also announced that he was resigning from the government.
It came as Boris Johnson apologized for making a mistake and failing to recognize that the Conservatives’ former deputy head of party discipline in parliament, Chris Pincher, was not suitable for the job.
Pincher has been charged with sexual misconduct.
