For her part, Rosana Pastor has been very excited “to receive a tribute in my land and at a festival to which I have been linked for several years.” For Pastor, the Elche Film Festival is “one of the essential national festivals” and has highlighted its evolution and the importance of its winner participating in the Goya Awards.
The honoree has expressed her satisfaction with the screening, on July 16, of her documentary “Francisco Brines: The signs revealed” dedicated to the Valencian poet, Cervantes Prize 2020. “It was very special to have met the poet in private in the interviews we did up to a month before his death,” acknowledges Rosana Pastor.
“In my profession”, Pastor points out, “I have always tried to make decisions that had to do with the person I am and the person I want to be; decisions with the head, but also with the heart to be able to live with dignity and be treated with love”. On her transition from acting to film directing, the actress comments that she has done it “logically”. “I feel very happy being an actress, a job for which I have prepared myself, although the jump to the other side of the camera came in a very natural way.”
The actress and director Rosana Pastor will receive the Silver Palm Tree from the hands of the president of the Mediterranean Foundation, an award that the event gives to the figure honored during the FICIE Closing Gala. Throughout its 45 editions, the Elche Film Festival has paid tribute to artists of the stature of Fernando Fernán Gómez, Sara Montiel, José Luis Garci, Sancho Gracia, Juan Diego, Cayetana Guillén Cuervo, Vicente Molina Foix or, in the year past, Mariano Barroso.

The Closing Gala of the 45th Elche Film Festival sIt will be held next Friday, July 22, at the Hort del Xocolater at 9:30 p.m. At the ceremony, all the prizes of the different categories that compete will be awarded, among which are the Fundación Mediterráneo Prize for the best short film, the Ciutat d’Elx Prize for the best fiction short film or the FesCurt Prize for the best production made in the Valencian Community. Also, This year, for the first time in the history of the festival, the Best Feature Film Award will be presented, which will come out of the eight pitches projected in the official section.
