The Festival aims to recognize the best emerging directors from Brooklyn and beyond, by showcasing creativity and diversity. The film, which stars Alexandre Castonguay and students from Notre-Dame-de-Protection school, in Old Noranda, had already won, in 2019, the Grand Prix Hydro-Québec at the Festival du cinéma international de l ‘Abitibi-Témiscamingue. It is now continuing its tour of festivals around the world, where it was to be screened in at least a dozen places.
“We were already very happy to have been selected in New York, in an event that incorporates great values. For example, this year, the event was equal, with as many directors as directors. In short, the selection of the film was already a great success. Now, winning a prize is really gratifying, ”said Dominic Leclerc, adding that he was touched by the image of Noranda’s children in Brooklyn. He thanked the organizers and the public of the festival through a short video, which he concluded, in a nice way, with a few words in French.
