The film Kiss as God from 2009 tells about the life of Helena Altmanová, a professor at the grammar school, who has a very balanced professional life, the personal one is already limping a bit. He still lives with his ex-husband Karel, who lives a very quirky life as a writer.
In addition, Helena also resolves the marital disagreements of her son Adam and the solitary life of the widowed sister Kristýna. In all these caroms, Helena falls madly in love with the rescuer František, who is a bit married. The comedic treatment of the unexpected twists of her love thus begins.
The director had a place to get inspiration for the story
Marie Poledňáková, who is responsible for the script and directing, in one of the interviews acknowledges the origin and inspiration of the story You Kiss Like God. The script shows her own life experiences and the stories of her friends. She attributes the situation associated with the children to the events she experienced with her beloved grandson.

Teacher Helena Altmanová focuses on teaching French and literature at one of Prague’s grammar schools. For the purposes of filming, the staff used the Gymnasium Nad Štolou, which is located in Prague 7. In one of the scenes, which takes place at the concert, the very well-known and popular band Divokej Bill also played.
What problem accompanied the main acting role?
The main female role of Helena’s teacher was played by the Slovak actress Kamila Magálová. She admitted during the interview that The biggest problem for her during filming was Czech, which is very easy to confuse with the Slovak language. In the end, however, she mastered Czech brilliantly, which you can see in the film.
The cast of actor Oldřich Kaiser had one big condition
Oldřich Kaiser plays the film of the paramedic František. His cast in this role carried one big condition. Director Marie Poledňáková forbade him to drink alcohol during filming. If he drank only once, filming would definitely end for him.

The success of the film is also evidenced by the award of the Czech Lion in 2009 for the most successful film for viewers. And no wonder over 900,000 viewers watched this film in cinemas, In the first weekend alone, almost 93,000 cinema-goers saw the film. Thanks to this, they were able to pay even relatively high costs, which were higher than 30 million crowns.
