The Film Festival returns with a new name, four days and a price increase

The last time we lived a Film Festival, those three days in which tickets cost only 2.90 euros, was in October 2019. Between October 28 and 30, almost 2.3 million spectators attended a movie theater, beating the event’s historical record thanks to films such as ‘Joker’ or ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’.

In 2020, cinemas experienced the worst year in their history due to the coronavirus pandemic. The months closed due to confinement, the reduction of capacity, the mess of security measures that created confusion among the spectators (in some communities it is still not possible to serve food or drink), the lack of premieres that attracted the general public … It has been very tough months but the big screen has remained all this time as a safe leisure option, with no outbreaks of COVID-19 detected in a movie theater since they reopened.

It’s time to celebrate with the first post-pandemic Film Festival, but this time it comes with major changes. For starters, the new event called Yo Voy Al Cine will take place over three days instead of four. It will be from Monday 27th to Thursday 30th of September when we will be able to enjoy tickets at a very reduced price. But that price will not be 2.90 euros but 3.50 euros, a trivial high that maintains the appeal of this celebration of cinema on the big screen. It should be borne in mind that many cinemas are still unable to offer the full capacity of their rooms due to coronavirus restrictions.

This event, which has cinemas and ICAA as organizers, will not require prior registration on any website or accreditation. We will be able to buy tickets at 3.50 starting on Sunday, September 26, only online at the cinemas’ own websites or ticket sales portals. And from Monday 27 they can also be bought in the cinemas themselves. The rooms adhering to the promotion have not yet been announced but will be published in the event website.

The movies of I Go To The Cinema

Among the movies that we can enjoy those days we will find latest releases like ‘Respect’, ‘Don’t Breathe 2’ or ‘Cry Macho’ by Clint Eastwood and some of the latest blockbusters like ‘Dune’, ‘Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings’,’ Maligno ‘,’ After. Lost souls ‘,’ Candyman ‘or’ To all train! Destination Asturias’. With this initiative, cinemas want to thank viewers for their support throughout these months and remember that they are a totally safe cultural offer.
