Malena Alterio and Pablo Berger, new ambassadors of the Film Festival

The organization of the Film Festival in collaboration with the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain promoted the figure of the Film Festival ambassador from 2022. Thanks to this collaboration, each year, the Film Festival will have a couple of ambassadors whose main role will be to collaborate in the dissemination of the event, lending their support to publicize the action among the public.

It is a pleasure for the organization to announce that the actress, winner of the 2024 Goya Award, Best Leading Actress for “let no one sleep”, Malena Alterio and the director, winner of two Goya 2024 AwardsBest Adapted Screenplay and Best Animated Film for “Robot Dreams” Pablo Berger, They are the new ambassadors of the Film Festival, taking over from Susi Sanchez and Luis Zahera, ambassadors from the previous year.

For Malena Alterio, the main reason to see a movie in a movie theater is “Now more than ever I think it is the only place where we can truly disconnect and see movies in their total splendor, as they were created.”

For his part, Pablo Berger, thinks that “The main reason is the HUGE PLEASURE you get from watching a good movie in a dark room full of viewers. It is magical to be able to “daydream,” live the lives of others, and put yourself on the screen, as Buster Keaton did in “The Modern Sherlock Holmes.” Going to the movies is like traveling back in time.”
