The figures from the last Film Festival are very encouraging. The 19th edition was registered, held last week a total of 1,291,799 spectatorsAnd 82.2% more than in the last May edition.
This new edition began last Monday, October 3, with a participation of 201,013 spectators. On Tuesday it had 282,864 spectators. On Wednesday it rose to 408,776 and on Thursday it had 399,146 spectators.
The horror film ‘Smile’ leads the ranking of the most viewed films in this new edition of the Film Festivalincluding several Spanish titles in the Top 10. ‘Smile’ is followed by ‘Avatar (RE)‘, the film that is re-released 13 years after its premiere, on the occasion of the arrival of the second part in December. ‘Model 77’, ‘Don’t Worry Dear’, ‘Tadeo Jones 3: The Emerald Tablet’, ‘Journey to Heaven’, ‘The Father of Life’, ‘God’s Crooked Lines’,’ Bullet Train ‘and’ The wild girl ‘continue in the ranking of the most viewed.
In this edition, the Film Festival joined the celebration of Spanish Film Day, on 6 October, to encourage theatrical presence for our films. Especially during that day spectators were able to enjoy a wide variety of Spanish cinema, led by the premiere of “Los renglones torcidos de Dios”, directed by Oriol Paulo, which premiered to coincide with the day of Spanish cinema. This film was followed by other national titles such as’ Model 77 ‘, released a week earlier, the animated film’ Tadeo Jones 3: The Emerald Tablet ‘or other titles such as’ La vida padre’, ‘Objetos’,’ Father no there is more than a 3 ‘, ’42 seconds’, ‘The rite of spring’, ‘I’m going to have fun’, ‘Alcarràs’, ‘Black is Beltza II’, ‘El Test’, ‘Cinco lobitos’ or ‘Pacific’.
The Film Festival is an event organized by the Federation of Cinematographic Distributors (FEDICINE), the Spanish Federation of Cinema (FECE) and the Ministry of Culture and Sport, through the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA), with the collaboration of Independent Cinematographic Distributors Association (ADICINE), which from this edition adheres to the event, to the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences and to FOTOGRAMAS, whose goal is to show the gratitude of the Industry to all spectators who enjoy the magic of films on the big screen and encourage participation in cinema as a social and cultural habit.
