time of reading
With films like “The Man in Motion” or “The Miracle of Bern”, Sönke Wortmann has been one of Germany’s most successful directors for three decades. Having already resorted to an original French film adaptation with the hit bitter comedy “Der Vorname”, the film “Contra”, which cinema friends now invite to the Rohrmeisterei, is also the remake of a film model from France.
The protagonist of the film is a law professor. A cynic by definition who treats almost everyone with a barely concealed contempt. And since he also has the rhetorical tools, he manages to knock out everything and everyone with his precise way of expressing himself.
debate on competition
However, when he contemptuously insults a young student, the only way he can save her professorship is to organize her for a national debate competition.
“Contra” is an enjoyable comedy juggling political misconduct and bits of language cabinet, which not only guarantees a pleasant evening, but also offers discussion material, according to movie buffs. The entrance on November 13 (Sunday) is as always at 19:00; the screening of the film starts at 19:30. There will be drinks and a short break in the middle of the movie.
