The Film Café serves “A little piece of…

70-year-old Mahin (Lily Farhadpour) has been living alone in Tehran since her husband died and her daughter left for Europe. A convivial afternoon tea with friends gives her the impetus to leave her lonely and monotonous everyday life behind. Mahin begins to want to reactivate her love life. In search of a new partner, she spontaneously opens her heart to taxi driver Faramarz (Esmail Mehrabi), who is the same age as her. The chance encounter turns into a night that is as surprising as it is unforgettable.

The CINEWORLD Mainfrankenpark will be showing the emotional and touching film “A Small Piece of Cake” in its film café on Thursday, August 22nd. It starts at 3 p.m. with delicious specialties from the cake and tart manufacturer “Tortenglück” from Westheim. The cinema team will also be serving aromatic coffee. The film starts at 4 p.m.

“A Small Piece of the Cake” is the third joint work by the successful Iranian directing duo Maryam Moghaddam and Behtash Sanaeeha (“Ballad of the White Cow”). With gentle humor, the film tells a story of hope and love that is as playful as it is emotional. The tragicomedy paints an authentic picture of the everyday life of women in Iran and their possibilities for subtle emancipation against the patriarchal authorities. What begins as a novelistic encounter between two lonely strangers develops into a touching ode to life, women and freedom.

Tickets can be booked online at www.cineworld-main.de Tickets can be purchased here, but there is also a ticket office open in the CINEWORLD itself. Current information is available on Facebook and Instagram (@cineworld.mainfrankenpark).
