Karel Gott and director Olga Malířová Špátová follow in the footsteps of their lives. He meets people who have played an important role in his life and returns to places that have left a significant mark on him. One such place is the conservatory, where one of many surprises awaits – the discovery that he once earned a two from conduct and a four from diligence.

Director Olga Malířová Špátová worked on the film Karel for two years, and filming took place during the last year of Gott’s life. “I think that the fact that he was going through a serious illness is the reason why Karel was open and humble in his views on life,” says Olga Malířová Špátová.

The film Karel will enter Czech cinemas on October 15, 2020.
