Public health France in its weekly epidemiological update confirms the relatively low level of circulation of the virus. With 12 cases on average per day, the epidemic trend is down sharply. The incidence is 29 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the positivity rate is 2.4%.

Same observation for hospitalizations and admissions in intensive care: 10 new hospitalizations including 1 in intensive care. Two new deaths are however to be deplored this week. Since the start of surveillance, epidemiological analyzes and investigations have detected: 4 cases of variant (United Kingdom), 3 cases of variant Brazil) and a suspicion of a new Brazilian variant. As for vaccination, the known figures stop at February 28: 3,800 people have been vaccinated in Guyana. Vaccination coverage for those 75 and over is 10.5%.
Declining indicators
Since March 4, the official start of the epidemic in Guyana, 16,693 cases of Covid-19 have been identified. This week 66 additional contaminations are recorded. Cayenne Island remains the most affected region with 21 new cases. All indicators are down.
