An F-35 fighter jet had to make an emergency landing at Bodø airport on Thursday.
VG received a report that a military plane flying over Bodø had sent an emergency signal shortly before 14:00 Two other planes, which were supposed to land in Bodø, had to circle Meløy, according to an informant who identified the incident on flight radar.
– It was a Norwegian F-35 fighter plane that was en route from Ørland Air Station in Evenes that received an error message about the system and made a controlled emergency landing in Bodø just before 2pm today, says Eivind Byre, communications manager at the Air Force.
The F-35 plane landed without drama, he says.
– We’re now looking into the error message and what could be causing it, Byre tells VG.
