‘The fight to dreams starts at six!’; Tennis player Sania Mirza with an emotional note Sania Mirza pens emotional note ahead of her final Grand Slam tournament

Indian tennis great Sania Mirza is all set to end her tennis career with the Dubai Open in February this year. The player also revealed that the Australian Open will be his last Grand Slam tournament.

Sania, one of the best female tennis players the country has ever seen, had earlier announced that she will end her career at the end of 2022. But with an injury ahead of the US Open, the player also changed his retirement plan. The 36-year-old star will play with Kazakhstan’s Anna Danil in the Australian Open doubles.

It is reported that India’s Rohan will play mixed doubles with Bopana. The star, who is preparing for the last Grand Slam, has shared an emotional note on Twitter. Sania says in the note that her eyes are filled with tears as she stands at the end of the struggle that started at the age of six. Sania won the first Grand Slam title in her career with Mahesh Bhupathi in mixed doubles at the Australian Open. The actor has won six titles in his career so far. Martin’s last Grand Slam was with Hingis at Melbourne Park in 2016.

‘Thirty (yes, 30!) years ago a six-year-old girl, studying at Nassar School in Hyderabad, walked into the tennis court of the Nizam Club with her mother and argued with the coach, insisting that she too be taught to play tennis. The coach replied that she was too young. The fight for dreams started at the age of six’ – said Sania.

My Grand Slam journey started with the 2005 Australian Open. So, it goes without saying that this would be the perfect Grand Slam to end my career. I played my first Grand Slam 18 years ago and now preparing to play my last Grand Slam Open, followed by the Dubai Open in February, I am filled with so many emotions of pride and gratitude. I am proud of all the achievements I have achieved in the last 20 years of my professional career and I am very grateful for the memories I have been able to create’ – reads the note.
