Kozhikode: Four guest workers who attempted to rape a 16-year-old girl and leave her at the train station were arrested. A 16-year-old girl from Uttar Pradesh was raped and tried to leave her on the platform of the Kozhikode train station. Iqrar Alam, Ajaj, Irshad and Shakeel Shah, originally from Uttar Pradesh, were arrested in the incident.
Police said the accused are working in various hotels in the city of Kozhikode. The young people met the girl on the train that was coming from Varanasi to her sister in Chennai. Then the young people who made friends took the girl to Kerala without allowing her to land in Chennai. It was delivered to Palakkad and from there to Kozhikode by road. The girl was taken to a rented room near Palayam Bustant and raped.
This morning, the defendant left the disabled girl on the platform of the Kozhikode train station and tried to pass. RPF officers asked the girl for information that she was walking alone on the platform.
The RPF arrested the four defendants during subsequent investigations. The defendants were captured from the premises of the station itself. The RPF handed the defendant to Kasaba police. The police registered a case against them in various departments. Police informed the girl’s relatives in Uttar Pradesh. The girl was transferred to a shelter.
