The FIFA 21 upgrade to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S is out now

Although the game calendar stubbornly claims that the Xbox Series X / S and PlayStation 5 versions of FIFA 21 will not be released until tomorrow, December 4, there is a group of players who have gained access to the next generation version already today. To get the upgraded versions, just log in to one of the new consoles with an account where you have purchased a copy of FIFA 21 for the older machines. The PlayStation 5 game library now has an icon there to upgrade for free. The process is chopped more seamlessly on the Xbox Series X / S – there you just have to see that the game icon in the library has the X / S logo on it. The new version takes up around 50 GB of space.

Progression from Ultimate Team and Volta is transferred from the old versions to the new ones, but everything else of progression is not transferred.

The new versions of FIFA 21 get a lot of improvements. The game runs in a resolution up to 4K, with 60 frames per second, in addition to using a number of graphic techniques that improve texture realism and rendering. Some players have gotten a little better hair in the same sling. Minor details, such as that muscles behave more naturally, and that the ball changes surface when you kick it or hit surfaces, as a football will do properly.

New camera angles, longer animations and new pre-sequences are also in place. The loading time should – not surprisingly – have been reduced considerably.

It is worth noting that the FIFA 21 versions cannot be played across consoles or generations. The PC version also does not get the upgrades.
