Schwäbisch Gmünd. This year, 23 bands and DJs are taking part again, providing a good musical atmosphere in various locations in Gmünd. The concept in Schwäbisch Gmünd found many imitators in the region, but no “pub music” is as consistent as that in the oldest Staufer town. And many cities charge an entry fee for their festival. In Schwäbisch Gmünd this event is freely accessible to everyone.

“This is what sets us apart from the many other festivals of this kind,” says Robert Frank from Touristik und Marketing GmbH, Schwäbisch Gmünd. Unfortunately, the number of participating restaurants and locations has declined in recent years. “Unfortunately, the Corona period has left its mark,” confirms Frank. Nevertheless, on the one hand, they are confident that they will be able to attract more hosting locations again. On the other hand, we are proud that many innkeepers are still taking part in this event. “We really talk to every landlord and every owner personally to see if they would like to take part. And we are successful with it,” say the two co-organizers Dominik and David Spiller.
The city is working to maintain the attractiveness of “Music in Gmünder Pubs”. Among other things, it supports innkeepers and bar owners with a fee subsidy of 200 euros. “For example, there are considerations here about increasing the subsidy from the city,” says Frank. The good thing is that the participating bands do not perform for a normal fee, but rather a lower fee. Many bands see it as an honor to be able to play in Gmünd. “We are really proud of our fine event,” said the organizers unanimously.
