The artists climbed onto the stage, which was located on the water, while the audience watched their performance both on the lake island in comfortable lounge chairs or on the mats they brought with them, on rafts, and near the stage itself, swimming by boat.
The well-known singers were warmed up by a new group from Ventspils – “6PM” or “6 pepper mixture”, which got this opportunity by winning the “Liepāja Makes Music” contest for young musicians.
The singer Buuu immediately after her performance jumped into the lake from the stage to cool off. She later explained that she really likes to swim and couldn’t resist the temptation of water. For the first time, she gave a concert on a floating stage.
“I really liked it,” she said, “as soon as I’m surrounded by nature, I’m happier, happier.
It was also a long road, and, to be honest, such a hard day – a very big accident on the way, very rainy, I’ve been up since four in the morning, working in the studio. But now I am with nature, water – colossal!”
The audience on the first night was not many, but both artists and visitors even mentioned this as a plus.
The organizers themselves have also mentioned that the emphasis of the event is on the free and relaxed atmosphere, where people meet in a small circle to go on an unforgettable musical adventure in nature.
Many visitors were not shy and took the opportunity to talk with the talented singers and take group photos.
In the continuation of the festival, the nostalgic pop group “Kautkaili” and the pop/rock music collective “Rīgas Modes” will give a concert on Saturday.
Before that, they will be warmed up by “Greg John” from Liepāja, aka Gregors Jānis Mažis, together with his bandmates, who also won recognition in the young musicians competition.
“Liepāja Lake Music” invites a wide variety of audiences, from young people to families with children. For the convenience of parents, there is a children’s corner in the territory. The event is also friendly for visitors with four-legged pets.
