Madrid, Jun 18 (EFE) .- The President of the FEMP, Abel Caballero, will propose to the Governing Board of the Federation the elaboration of an amendment so that it is expressly recognized in the future law of Minimum Vital Income, IMV, that ” its management represents a cost for the Local Entities that are involved in this activity and that cost has to be satisfied ”.
Abel Caballero, as reported by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), made this proposal during a telematic meeting with the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations José Luis Escrivá in which more than twenty mayors have participated, and in the that the minister announced to the local representatives that the IMV is going to be processed in Parliament as a Bill.
The meeting was convened by the Ministry and the FEMP to address the various points of interest of the Minimum Vital Income after its entry into force, find out how its application is developing in Local Entities and propose elements for improvement.
Abel Caballero has valued the size of the IMV, “which has already aroused a broad consensus in its first parliamentary procedure” and has shown the satisfaction of the Local Governments for its processing as a bill, because “it will allow improvements to be included.”
The President of the FEMP recalled that the Federation had already presented the document Local Pillars for the Economic and Social Reactivation of the Local Administration, in which the position of the FEMP in various areas and in which it was already required the demand for a fund to cover the expenses that the management of the IMV could cause to the Local Entities.
For both Minister Escrivá and the President of the FEMP, the parliamentary processing of the IMV as a bill opens the door to incorporate improvements in Income management and also to consolidate, through amendments, local demands.
