Berlin: The federal government incurred fewer new debts last year than originally planned. Federal Finance Minister Lindner said in the Bundestag that a total of 24.8 billion euros less credit was needed. In the budget for the past year, new debts of 240 billion euros were planned because of the corona pandemic. But part of it was not needed. According to Linder, the budget statement also includes the 60 billion euros that have already been reallocated to the energy and climate fund. According to him, the money should be used to make up for lost investments due to the Corona crisis. The Minister of Finance announced that the debt brake suspended due to the pandemic would be observed again in 2023. In the years that follow, the debt ratio should then be reduced.
