The FDA has approved the administration of additional doses of Moderna and Johnson & Johnson anti-COVID vaccines

Currently, all three vaccines approved for use in the country are available for booster administration in the United States.

The agency also gave a green light to a “mixture” of doses. For example, those who were initially vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson serum may receive a dose of Moderna or Pfizer / BioNTech as a booster.

Prior to administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) must give its consent.

A meeting of the advisory group will be held on Thursday, and Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the CDC, is expected to issue official recommendations.

Last week, the National Institutes of Health released data from a study showing that the vaccine blend is safe and effective, with any combination increasing antibody levels.
