/ world today news/ The scandal with the possible participation of the owner of the White House in a major corruption scheme reaches a new level. Congressmen suspect the FBI of hiding documents pointing to Joe Biden’s guilt. If this is confirmed, the consequences are unpredictable.

In January, it became known that Biden, in violation of instructions, took to his home government documents, including classified ones, with which he worked when he was a senator and vice president.
However, the case did not receive the development expected by the political opponents of the head of state.
The White House has hijacked the agenda thanks to the high-profile Donald Trump lawsuit. The former president was accused of falsifying documents and illegally paying a pornographic actress a huge sum – so that she would keep quiet about an intimate relationship with him.
In March, Republicans switched to a different story. They discovered some financial statements for 2015-2017, according to which the current president and his family received more than a million dollars from the company “State Energy”.
Also, it was a Chinese company (although it serves Hong Kong, which has a special administrative status in China). For Washington, Beijing is the main competitor and sometimes adversary.

The White House rejected the accusations, but the “elephants” did not calm down. In May, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer announced an investigation into all of the president’s family’s alleged shady dealings. “He continues to lie to the American people. The Biden family received millions of dollars from China,” the Republican emphasized.
The bribe from a certain foreigner (citizenship not specified) was estimated by the pro-Republican media “Fox News” at five million dollars.
According to the Comer Committee report, members of the president’s family and their business partners have created about twenty dubious companies. Money came from China and Romania through them. Total for the period of Biden’s vice presidency (2009-2017) – more than ten million dollars.

Comer and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley cited an anonymous whistleblower. According to him, the FBI has a document – form FD-1023 dated June 30, 2020 with detailed information about Biden’s participation in the corruption scheme.
A Fox News source emphasized that the whistleblower was “constantly vetted” and considered “extremely reliable.” Form FD-1023 is used by bureau agents to record confidential communications. Its existence in the case of Biden is officially recognized.
“FBI Director Christopher Wray has confirmed the existence of Form FD-1023, which alleges that Vice President Biden engaged in a criminal bribery scheme with a foreign national,” Comer said.
“We know the FBI has some very serious allegations. It is unclear what they did next. Did they investigate the leads or sweep them under the rug?” Grassley asked.
Both congressmen were invited by the feds to inspect the form at Bureau headquarters. But they want more – transfer of the original document to the supervisory commission.
Republican consolidation
Comer approached the FBI with a corresponding request. There they refused him, citing the secrecy of the sources and methods of obtaining information.
The committee chairman threatened to hold Wray in contempt of Congress. That hasn’t happened in forty years.
However, the crisis was averted. On June 8, the commission scheduled a meeting to evaluate Ray’s actions. By all accounts they were ready to condemn him. The FBI apparently understood this and agreed to provide Comer’s committee with the documentation they had on Biden, including the confidential Form FD-1023.
The fact that Ray is a Republican probably played a role as well. He was Trump’s chief of staff, and apparently he himself does not want to obstruct the investigation of possible crimes against Biden.
However, the FBI warned that the documents provided do not serve as grounds for bringing charges against the president.
Goals and perspectives
Comer assured that the Bureau’s data will be carefully scrutinized. But he did not specify a date.
If the oversight group succeeds in proving to the House of Representatives and the Senate the guilt of the head of state, it will pave the way for an impeachment vote.
Biden, responding to a question about the corruption schemes, said “that’s bullshit.” “I’m honest,” he said, adding that he had not pressured law enforcement to investigate him or his rival, Trump.
The rating of the owner of the White House is low. His supporters are five to seven percent less than those who disapprove of his activities.
So far, according to sociological surveys, it is not clear to what extent suspicions of corruption influence public opinion. The respondents are mainly worried about the age and health of the president. Especially with new incidents like falling at the Air Force Academy (Biden couldn’t stand up on his own) and failing to get out of a helicopter (when he hit his head on the threshold).
Under these conditions, there is no need for congressmen to impeach. A little more than a year before the new elections, the Democrats have no reserve bench, so the Republicans just have to stir up scandals that discredit the president and open the way for his “elephant” rivals.
